just a silly question, but its a path i want to follow

hey guys, can i ask a question, and be honest. ok, for a while now ive had this idea mulling around my head. basicly, sanctuary, hippies would call it a commune, and so on. just a place where people can get away, probably somewhere nice and isolated in the mountains, but till close to other people. i know what its like when you need to get away for a while. people come stay as long as they want, stay or leave. with alternative power, specialized houses and positive energy energy (being an empth sucks when there is only negative that you absorb). and i want to make a giant beautiful grove, for all witches to come to, and not have to worry of being ostrasized by people. i have some promises to keep for loved ones passed on, but i want to make it happen. i know its a dumb question, but i would like your opinions. thanks, chris - the hippie sage

I like the idea quite a bit, actually. The only problem with it is that many people, like myself would want to visit there often, (if not maybe live there- lol) but a lot of us dont have the time/money to fly up to the mountains if we live far away.
The other issue is, with the way the laws are getting these days, you would have to type up, print out, and have every guest sign papers that basically say that if anything happens to them, you are not legally liable.
And then there are utilities...
Maybe better than housing, could be tent or teepee camping, or possibly wood cabins, no electricity, maybe running water, but better to have wells or a running stream with tested potable water nearby.

My last two concerns on the issue are that there would be a lot of candle burning, with or without electricity, you could end up with a fire on your land. And lastly that with spell casting of all sorts and intentions going on in such a concentrated place, you could end up with clashes, or an overabundance of energy which could be overwhelming and possibly even dangerous. At the very least you could ask everyone to cleanse the area before they leave, and suggest that they do it themselves when they arrive.

I hope you can find a way to make your idea work safely and successfully. With enough success maybe you could discuss the idea with pagans around the country and even around the world, to open up such oasises all over, so that no White Witch is left wishing they could join you, if only they were more geographically lucky.
