A Bad Book - Simple Wicca
A bad book, Simple Wicca. for pagans and wicca.
Simple Wicca by Michele Morgan. Weiser Books. 2000.
Unfortunately this is nothing but another fluff piece on Wicca and some of the information is not only out of sync with some basic Wiccan beliefs, there is some information here that I would really like to know where the author came up with it.
Just some examples – the author portrays all Gods and Goddesses as good and light only talking about their positive traits and leaving out any of the tales that tell us otherwise about the Gods.
There are also the statements referring to Wicca as an ancient religion – which of course, it isn’t – based on ancient paganism, yes, but ancient itself – nope.
We are even given the claim the feminist movement came about because of Wicca, yet gives no proof of this statement.
I can’t even recommend this book as a good place for beginners to start as there is just too much misinformation, that will only lead to confusion later on.
