reconecting with animal guide

i guess i need help reconnecting with my guides. but i want to share a strange instance i hope someone can explain to me. not to long ago, i went on vacation with my family to NH, a beautiful mountain spot. but ever scince i arrived, i felt this strange feeling, like being followed, but not by any person. we went to one of those places you can go into caves, and i saw what seemed to be a wolf or fox, a feral spirit. i felt compeled to folow it and it brought me through a cave to the most beautiful waterfall, rich in positive energy and beauty. the moon was full the whole time we were there. i thought i saw the same spirit outside every night but apperenly i was the only one. its confusing but i would love to meet this guide if i can. anyone else have this kind of experince? and what should i do?
