I follow a path that is an eclectic mix of Norse Witchcraft, Shamanism and OBOD Druidry. I have been practicing since the age of 18. Some of my other interests include the study of Alchemy, various MMORPGs and tinkering with computers.
What is the most rewarding thing for you about your pagan path?
The most rewarding thins about my path is the deep connection with deity and the confidence and fulfillment I have gained since I began walking this path.
What are you looking to get out of this community?
Mostly to meet others of like minds and exchange ideas and to make friends within the larger pagan community.
Good to hear from you, sorry MY response was so late, I haven't been on this site in a long time (that is not unusual for me, I tend to go where I feel I am needed in my own studies, lol) and just got your message on my page.
I am glad to hear you got another job quickly -- I am on a waiting list for a cashier job at Kroger's (not my dream job, but it is just across the street from us, I know most everyone and have worked there before, and love communicating with the customers) and seeing if they are hiring for that position (which I talked with the hiring manager, she put my updated application back on the top of her list to call me when she finds out there is an opening). She mentioned when I talked to her in person that she needs to find out if they are going to hire cashiers again at this time -- their last hiree was back in November of 2008, and they are a busy store. So it's ashamed that even the franchises have to deal with the extreme budget cut here. So in waiting.
How did your move go? We are still in our apartment building we moved into a few Memorial Day summers ago, like it, but our landlords put young kids who play stupid music so loud sometimes it booms all throughout the apartment we are in above them -- and the girl's kids on the weekend send our stuff shaking when she lets them go wild inside their apartment. A few other qualms non-mentionable here about them, but I am waiting to hear from the landlord to report them on something that I don't approve of them approaching me with. It is nuts -- we want our own house, but I need a job, Dan cannot do it alone for the both of us, our apartment is cheap and huge, but with the other bills and gas and food, it is almost impossible to keep up with the rising prices in our area.
I wish you luck and many blessings for your new home. I have begun looking into a little on Asatru, not much, but found a descent beginners website on it with information on those practices. Right now, my focus is on Native American spirituality and (Core) Shamanism.
Hi, Eldritch! It's been a long time since we touched basis. How are you doing? I've been busy the last few weeks setting up a Ning group to help me with my own studies. I recently, too, have checked out the OBOD and started looking into Druidry more for my path studies. That site is so informational, and I love the fact that I can learn more about my connections with Nature (the Trees and the Earth are my main subjects).
How are you and yours doing? We are getting snow today, you guys probably got more being over there by Lake Michigan, am I right? Take care, and have a Happy Imbolg if I don't hear from you before then.
Merry Meet! I'm from Michigan, too, about a half-an-hour away from the Pontiac area. I was wondering if you self-study or are in a coven. I have met a few people who are interested in the Craft, and I used to go to a metaphysical store in Howell whose owner was in a group in her area, and used to work with a few girls who were in a Coven (they were all just out of high school), but one of them was cold to other people and thought she was the best at everything, and even supposedly put a Hex on one of my friends that we had worked with. Do you think it's best to just stay solitary (I like doing things on my own, but I love being around other people) or risk joining a coven?
I see you like Shamanism. Do you involve any aspects of the Native Americans into your rituals?
